Seller Non-Performance Policy

XS-Machinery expects sellers to deliver a consistently high level of buyer satisfaction.

When a seller lists an item and a buyer purchases it, the seller and buyer have entered into a contract that both members are expected to honor. For sellers, this contract includes both formal requirements, as well as informal, common-sense obligations to provide good service to their buyers.

Sellers who do not fulfill these requirements and obligations are not honoring their contract and create a bad buyer experience.  Sellers who generate excessive bad buyer experiences relative to their selling volume are at risk of violating the seller non-performance policy.

Buyer experiences may be reflected in areas such as any potential forthcoming Feedback areas (including overall scores and detailed seller ratings), as well as item not received or item significantly not as described disputes.

Violations of this policy by a seller may result in a range of actions, including:

  • Listing cancellation
  • Forfeit of XS-Machinery fees on cancelled listings
  • Selling fee schedule adjustments
  • Requirements regarding payment options and potential holds on payments made through PayPal
  • Limits on account privileges
  • Decreased visibility in search results
  • Account suspension
  • Referral to law enforcement

Additional Information

What buyers can do if they feel a seller has violated the seller non-performance policy

If a seller has refused to complete a sale and payment has not been sent or payment has been refunded, report the seller. When making your report, include a copy of the email documenting the seller's refusal to complete the sale with the full message text and complete email headers.

If a buyer has paid for an item and has been unable to receive the item or a refund, or believes the item was significantly misrepresented, they should refer to the item not received or significantly not as described process.  Buyers will also find instructions that will allow them to contact XS-Machinery to report the seller on this page.

What sellers can do to avoid violating the seller non-performance policy

Good practices that help sellers promote buyer satisfaction include:

  • Accurately describe the condition, size and quality of the item directly in the listing.
  • Honor the original terms by accepting payment for an item at the end of a successful sale.
  • Promptly ship the item with appropriate packaging once payment has been received.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to questions from the buyer.
  • Proactively communicate with the buyer throughout the transaction.

Why does XS-Machinery have this policy?

In a transaction on the XS-Machinery platform, both the seller and the buyer are expected to honor their commitments. XS-Machinery has this policy to ensure that XS-Machinery’s sellers understand their obligations and to protect XS-Machinery’s buyers.
